F6 Design is a one-person web design & development studio run by myself, Jonathan Nicol. I have over ten years experience creating smart, elegant and engaging online experiences that my clients and their customers love.

Get to know me

I have been working in the web industry since 2000 and running F6 Design full-time since 2004. Before embarking on a career as a web designer I earned a bachelor degree in Fine Arts, and spent several years working as an arts administrator in New Zealand. These days I am based in sunny Melbourne, Australia.

In my professional life I am motivated by a deep love of graphic design, digital media, and typography, and am constantly pushing myself to hone my craft as a designer and web developer. At the heart of my practice is a passionate belief in the power of thoughtful, user-focused design. The websites I create are designed for the modern web, and anchored by traditional graphic design principles.

It’s not all about pushing pixels though. On my days off you might find me kicking back with my family, reading a good book, or making bleepy electronic music.

My work has been featured in books and magazines including The Alamanac Of Asia Pacific Design II (Hong Kong), Web Designing magazine (Japan), Rethink, Redesign, Reconstruct (USA), and Indie Fonts 2 (USA).

My client projects have received numerous accolades including Australian blog of the year.

My illustration work was included in the exhibition To A T at the Museum of Design, Atlanta, and has been featured in Beautiful Decay magazine (USA).
